The Boys & Girls Club means a positive place for kids. The Boys & Girls Club made me a better person inside and out. Being here made me meet new people and get out of my comfort zone. Basically ever since I started coming, I made it part of my everyday life. At the club, I can speak freely and say how I feel without people judging me. Also, the staff cares and helps me with my problems. Everybody here is a family! The Boys & Girls Club has trips and different clubs. Being here you are actually never bored. You are always doing something positive or helping your peers. The Boys & Girls Club means stepping away from violence and bad behavior you have experienced. I love the Boys & Girls Club.

I am a former member of the Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area. I was a member of the club for five or six years. The club has played a major part of my life. Through the many years of my day-to-day dedication to the club, I have played an active role in many of the programs provided for me; like Passport to Manhood; Keystone Club; getting involved in community service; being a part of an acting class with Michael Jones; winning first and third place in a photography contest and winning third place in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay contest. These many years felt like episodes which played out my whole life through the Boys & Girls Club.
The neighborhood knows me for going to the club every single day. You can say it is a home away from home even if it's right down the street. My life has been crazy because all I see around me are drug dealers, crack addicts, killers and thieves and I knew right then and there that I wanted to become better. So the club helped me to become and stay positive so that I can work on my future.
My experience in the club will hopefully motiviate those who are also willing to change for the better.

I have been attending the Bellport Boys & Girls Club for about four to five years. During the years I, and many people, have seen a major improvement in myself. Before I started attending the Club, I had low self esteem and I wasn't doing well in school. At the Boys & Girls Club there is a program called, Power Hour. The staff and volunteers would help us with what we needed. I see the Club as a positive place where you can have fun and learn. I also see it as a place that keeps me and my friends out of trouble.
The staff at the Club are kind and caring. You can tell that they are not here for the money, but for the kids. At the Club I have a close, but different relationship with each of the staff members.
That's why I enjoy coming and being a member or the Boys & Girls Club of Bellport.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area is a wonderful place. I'm engaged in the programs, Power Hour and Smart Girls and am the Treasurer and Sargeant at Arms for the Keystone Club. I also do acting through the Boys & Girls Club. The Club helped me change into the outgoing, happy and caring person that I am today. Before I started coming to the Club, I was hanging around the wrong people, doing the wrong thing. I now know that is not the path to follow.
The staff are nice, caring people who I feel that I can talk to. They're not judgemental. They are there for us. It is like they can be long-lost relatives. By them wanting to help us do better inspired me to do the same.
I really enjoy going to the Club. When I'm there, it is like I can stop my world and just take a breather. I can't wait until the new building. Hopefully, it will bring forth new members. I know that this will be a moment I will enjoy.
